WHAT TO EXPECT BEFORE, DURING, & AFTER YOUR SESSION
From our very first conversation we will ask you to start thinking about your portrait session with the end vision in mind. Meaning we want you to start by thinking about what your vision is for your portraits. We believe very passionately that the best place for your portraits is beautifully printed on the highest quality materials for you to display in your home and enjoy every day.
KEEPING THAT IN MIND, SOME THINGS TO THINK ABOUT
What are your hopes and dreams for your session?
What is it about your children that you would like to remember in 20 years?
And how do you want to remember it? Is it in an album that can be handed down from generation to generation? Or a wall portrait that will make you smile when you pass by it every day? Or maybe it is a collection of images arranged in a wall gallery that highlights your growing family year after year?
Whichever way you choose to display your images, we begin with the end goal in mind. Before we shoot any images, we create a plan for how they will be displayed in your home. Creating a plan and shooting for that plan results in a session that makes magic and is the recipe for a successful portrait process every single time.
BEFORE THE PORTRAIT SESSION
The Pre-Session Consultation
The first step is for us to get to know each other. We ask you to complete a questionnaire before the consult, which asks about your goals for the session, how you plan to display your images, your home decor, personal style and any other tidbits of info you can give us about your vision.
We want to know all about your personality, likes/dislikes, funny things your kids or spouse do, and what makes your family tick. We will review your questionnaire and then you have the option to come in to the studio or have a phone consultation prior to your session. This helps us find out what is important to you, go over details of the session, like what to wear and which location will be best for your family. This part of the process enables the session to go smoothly and helps us create the perfect images for you.
THE PORTRAIT SESSION
On location sessions offer an environment that is comfortable and familiar to families which often lead to comfortable and natural expressions. Sessions at one of DFW’s beautiful parks or nature trails make for some amazing and unique images, especially if the location is meaningful to you. So consider carefully where you’d like to have your session, or we can recommend a spot for you after we have spoken with you at your pre-session consultation.
At the session, you can expect to relax and have fun while we coach you through fun poses that feel natural. Sessions with RGP are natural, relaxed and fun! You will be surprised at how quickly the time will go and how easily we will guide you into the natural posing that families do. We will provide gentle prompts and direction to foster genuine emotion and interaction between family members.
AFTER THE PORTRAIT SESSION
Viewing & Ordering Appointment
This is the most exciting part! The Viewing & Ordering Appointment is the time when you get to see all your beautiful images. Your images are projected larger than life on our screen and we will help you design the perfect portrait art for your home. We will help you sort through the images and make final decisions on what will look best with your home decor and with your portrait goals. You will be able to touch and feel the products we offer. We’ll show you actual size and pair images together for a wall portrait, gallery or heirloom album.
Seeing your images come to life in print is the most rewarding part of the entire process and we truly love to create beautiful artwork for homes.
About 5-6 weeks later, your art piece will be ready for you. We’ll call or email you to let you know it’s here and make arrangements for you to take home your portraits.
